Vietnam-Era Women Veterans
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting a study of women veterans who served during the Vietnam War. The study will be four years long. The VA will contact 10,000 women. If you are contacted, speak up, shout out and be heard. Women veterans need our support and they need the VA’s full support.
NCO Association
The Non Commissioned Officers Association’s monthly publication, ‘‘The NCOA Journal,” has gone digital. The magazine will no longer be printed due to rising costs. Future issues will be posted online at www.ncoausa.org. The NCOA is one among many fine organizations that support both military retirees and Active Duty military members. We retirees must support these organizations that represent us in Congress. Choose a Veterans organization and become active so we can be heard.
Retiree Casualty Assistance Checklist
Do you have access to a Retiree Casualty Assistance Checklist? Have you ever seen such a checklist? We all need to prepare for whatever might happen to us in the future. The military retiree and the retiree’s spouse or other family member need to have a starting point to gather important information that will be used upon the death of the retiree or family member. An example of a checklist can be found on the Retiree Activities Office Web page at http:⁄⁄www.andrews.af.mil, click on ‘‘Retirees” on the right side of the page. While you are looking at the checklist, checkout the information on DFAS Casualty Reporting.
