Lt. Col. Robin Hunt
Hometown: Tallahassee, Fla.
Unit: 79th Aerospace Medicine Squadron
Duty Title: Aeromedical Staging Facility commander
My father was my inspiration for joining the Air Force. A naval aviator, he gave his life for his country when I was 3 years old. I grew up with a deep admiration for his sacrifices and decided to “check the Air Force out“ while in college through ROTC. My intentions were to accept my commission and serve my 4-year commitment then pursue other dreams. Well...my 4 years turned into 20 plus...and I'm still counting. My dreams have been realized in the Air Force. Having a passion for traveling and experiencing different cultures, the Air Force has provided me with a fantastic career and opportunities I would have never been afforded had I decided to pursue work in the civilian sector. I have been privileged to work in a variety of nursing and leadership positions during my career.
My current duty as Aeromedical Staging Facility Commander at Malcolm Grow is an honor.
I am humbled every week as I greet wounded warriors returning from OIF⁄OEF--realizing the sacrifices they have made for our country and our freedom. And the pleasure continues to be mine on a daily basis to work with such a fine team of professionals (permanent party and deployed) in the Aeromedical Staging Flight and the 79th Medical Group.
