Air Force Villages provides widows of career retired Air Force Officers with dignified, appropriate, and cost-effective living options.
Through a confidential disclosure application, the identities of widows receiving financial assistance are kept in the strictest confidence to preserve their dignity and security.
Since 1970, the Foundation has provided over $10 million of assistance - $918,000 last year. Widows have top priority for admission to the Villages and because of the Air Force Assistance Fund; no otherwise eligible widow has ever been turned away due to her inability to pay.
Since its opening, Air Force Villages has grown to include two premier retirement communities for retired and honorably separated officers and their family members from all federal uniformed services. In addition to its charitable support of indigent widows, the Foundation continues the Air Force tradition of caring for our own by directly supporting active duty members in several ways:
The services of the Health Care Center are available to military members of all ranks and their dependants.
Families of Air Force officers killed on active duty are offered living accommodations at the Villages for up to a year while putting their lives back together following their tragic loss.
The dependent parent program provides comfortable and secure residential, assisted living, or health care center accommodations at reasonable rates for elderly dependents.
The charitable mission of the Air Force Villages continues to grow. Assisting an elderly person left in financial need because of unforeseen circumstances requires your help. All monies received from the Air Force Assistance Fund are used for the living and health care expenses of qualified widows. (Courtesy of the Air Force Assistance Fund)
