844 Communications Group Change of Command

A change of command ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Ceremonial Lawn at Bolling AFB for Col. Kim Johnson will relinquish command of the 844th Communications Group to Col. Curtis Frost.

Mother’s Day at Community Activity Center

The Community Activity Center is celebrating Mother’s Day 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at 1442 Concord Avenue. Servicemembers and their families are welcome to attend. Free raffles and a goodie bag for mom will be handed out. Activities include crafts for children, neck massage for mom, face painting and a magician show. For more information, call 703-696-0958.

316 CPTS Offers In-processing Workshops

The Financial Management Office is conducting ‘‘PCS In-Processing Workshops” once a week beginning Monday and running throughout the summer. The workshops will be held in the Base Theater at8 a.m., May 19, May 28 and the first four Mondays in June. The workshop helps ensure newcomers to Andrews are given an opportunity to file their travel vouchers as soon as possible upon arrival. All newcomers are encouraged to attend the first workshop available after they sign onto the base. No appointment is necessary. For more information, please call Senior Master Sgt. Right Decision Briefing

The Right Decision briefing is 7:30 a.m. to noon May 30 in Bldg. 1413, room 225 (ALS Auditorium). The Right Decision briefing targets first and second term Airmen who are in the critical decision making zone for reenlisting. The briefing provides information to help Airmen make an informed career decision. This briefing is conducted every other month and is mandatory for all first term Airmen who are6 to 15 months from their date of separation. Security Forces PT Challenge

The 316th Security Forces Squadron is holding a PT Challenge 9 a.m. Wednesday in Bldg. 1845. The 4-person teams will compete in five areas: 4k Warrior March, push ups, sit ups, humvee pull, and a 9mm Pistol Competition. 316th Services Needs Volunteers for JSOH

ACE Needs Volunteers for JSOH

The Airmen Committed to Excellence club needs volunteers for the 2008 Joint Service Open House. The club currently has three ice cream carts to use and is looking for motivated Airmen to split shifts during the 3-day show. Child Care Registration

The Child Care Registration Office is accepting applications for School Age Summer Camp. For more information call 301-981-9981.

Freedom and Yuma Park pavilion reservations<P> Reservations for pavilion use at the Base Lake and Yuma Park must be made in person at Outdoor Recreation, bldg. 1235. Freedom Lake pavilions rentals are $50⁄large and $20⁄small. Yuma Park pavilion rental is $35. Both areas have restroom facilities, picnic tables and charcoal grills. Volunteers Needed

The Retiree Activity Office needs volunteers to help staff its office at Andrews. The office is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The office supports more than 17,000 retirees in the local area. Lifeguards Needed

People interested in working as a lifeguard this summer at Andrews should stop in to Human Resource Office in bldg. 1535, B-208 and pick up an application. Positions include: Recreation Assistant (lifeguards), Recreation Aid (lifeguards), pool manager⁄supervisor (lifeguard).

Shuttle Service

The 316th Logistics Readiness Squadron shuttle service runs from 6:25 a.m. to 6:25 p.m. each day. The shuttle stops at the Main Gate, Bldg. 1535, the hospital, Gateway Inn, Passenger Terminal and the Commissary. For questions or comments, call 316 LRS at 301-981-1182 or 4661. Shuttle operations are subject to change without notice due to mission requirements.

Infant and Toddler University

Parents, caregivers and children come together for an interactive experience with music, play, art, field trips and opportunities to make friends every Tuesday at Child Development Center 1. Infant University is for children 3 to 18 months old from 9:30 to 10:25 a.m. Toddler University is for children 18 to 36 months old from 10:45 to 11:40 a.m.

Dads 101

A class taught by dads for dads is held the last Tuesday of every month from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chapel 3. Topics include pregnancy, coaching during child birth, relationships, parenting issues and fatherhood. All ranks and services are welcome. For more information call 240-857-9680.

Air Force Association Update

The Thomas W. Anthony Chapter of the Air Force Association here is seeking volunteers to assist various vice presidents across the local board. Women, Infants & Children Nutrition

The special nutrition program helps moms have healthier babies and children to grow and develop. The program runs every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Airman & Family Readiness Center. For more information, call 301-856-9600.

Champagne Sunday Brunch

Treat your family and friends to a delicious meal at The Club at Andrews. A variety of hot and cold items are available. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $14.95 for members and guests, $19.95 for non-members, $6.95 for children 6 to 10. Children under the age of six eat for free. Cosmic Bowling

Arts & Crafts Night
