‘‘I am the first of seven children born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies, to my parents. At the age of 20, I immigrated to the U.S. to further my education. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics from the University of the District of Columbia. I taught in the Prince George’s County public school system for several years before serving full time in the military.
I have been mentored by several wonderful people, and, in turn, have had the opportunity to influence many lives myself.
Since joining the Air Force Reserve, I’ve had the opportunity to climb Mount Fuji and skydive to celebrate my 40th birthday!
I’m currently pursuing my masters degree in teaching and learning with technology with the intent of one day returning to the classroom, particularly in a foreign country.
I am also a proud member of the West Indian-American Military Members Association at Andrews. The association, with knowledge from its seasoned retired military members, as well as fresh new ideas from the other junior and senior members, has added an invaluable dimension to my life. I am just at the halfway point in my career and am looking forward to a bright and prosperous future. I am thankful for all of my experiences and people that God has allowed me to meet on my journey.”
