Skin Cancer Screening

Free skin cancer screening will be available at the Health and Wellness Center, Bldg. 1442, today from9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 240-857-5601.

Monte Carlo Night

The Club at Andrews offers a night of fun ... Las Vegas style tonight from 7-10 p.m. The cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Price includes $2,500 in chips and a free brunch coupon. Tickets are on sale at the cashier’s cage.

Football Frenzy

Football Frenzy returns to the Sports Page Lounge & Grill. Noon to 8 p.m. each Sunday. Club members can win prizes from Air Force Services by filling out Football Frenzy entry forms at the Sports Page. Management officials will designate the game of the week on the weekly game board.

Air Force 60th Anniversary Events

Join the Air Force in recognizing our 60th Birthday, September 18.

A Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held at the Air Force Memorial at9 a.m. A Birthday Celebration will be held in the Pentagon Center Courtyard from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The inclement weather location will be the Pentagon Auditorium.

Other events include performances by the Tops In Blue, Air Force Drill Team and Five Star Iris, special guests from our Air Force heritage, exhibits including the Air Force NASCAR and more ... All are welcome!

AOSC

Join the Andrews Officers Spouses Club for an exclusive evening of art and conversation 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Courses at Andrews Clubhouse. Cost is $20 and dress is smart casual. To RSVP, call the AOSC event hotline at 301-967-2777.

Air Force Birthday Meal

Freedom and Liberty Hall will be serving a meal Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate the Air Force’s 60th birthday. The meal is open to military, family members, retirees and DoD civilians. The menu includes strip loin steak, french onion soup, shrimp cocktail. herb lemon baked fish, chicken w⁄ orange glaze, mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, oven browned potatoes, carrots, peass and onions, corn on the cob and birthday cake.

Suicide Awareness Briefings

Base suicide prevention briefings will be held at the 79th Medical Group conference center, Bldg. 1075, room B⁄C, at the following days and times:

Wednesday - 10 a.m.

Wednesday - 2 p.m.

Sept. 19 - 2 p.m.

Sept. 20 - 10 a.m.

Commissary Customers Meeting

A customer advisory meeting is 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Commissary Conference Room. For more information, call Robin Daniel at 240-840-6512 x3002.

Shuttle Service

The 316th Logistics Readiness Squadron shuttle service runs from 6:25 a.m. to 6:25 p.m. each day. The shuttle stops at the main gate, Bldg 1535, the hospital, Gateway Inn, PAX Terminal and the Commissary. The full shuttle schedule is available at www.andrews.af.mil. For questions or comments please call the 316 LRS at 301-981-1182⁄4661. Shuttle operations are subject to change without notice due to mission requirements.

Ocean City Sunfest

Ocean City’s biggest festival is on Sept. 22. Fine art, distinctive crafts, performers on two stages and a variety of food vendors will be part of Sunfest. Depart ITT at 7 a.m. and return around 11 p.m. Price is $40 per person. Sign up at ITT.

Volunteers Needed

The Retiree Activity Office needs volunteers to help staff its office here at Andrews. The office is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to3 p.m. The office supports more than 17,000 retirees in the local area. Without the support of volunteers to staff the office, it may have to close. College Fair

A college fair will be held at the Community Activities Center Sept. 19. For more information, contact Cynthia Nunes-Taijeron, 316th Mission Support Squadron School Liaison officer, at 301-981-0057.

ID Card Issuing Facilities

Andrews contains several ID⁄Common Access Card issuing facilities. The Main Gate, 459th Air Refueling Wing Headquarters, Bldg. 3755, 113th Wing headquarters, Bldg. 3252, Naval Air Facility, Bldg. 3282, 316th Wing Military Personnel Flight, Bldg. 1414 and Headquarters Air Force Office Of Special Investigations, Bldg. 1535. Thrift Shop

The Thrift Shop is open 10 a.m. -3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is also open from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of the month. For more information, call the Thrift Shop at 301-735-3533.
